PP Marketing Commissions – I’ve seen systems, software and coaching programs offering services like this before and here is the problem with many. The products they have setup for you simply do not sell, you’re stuck with low conversions, and high refunds if you’re lucky enough to make sales. You’re on the right track to make money, only problem is you’re going broke before anything happens. Why? Because it’s only starting…

  • You still need hosting
  • You still need tracking
  • You still need a copywriter

and if you really want to make a 6-figure income yearly

  • You still need a proven high converting sales funnel
  • New sales funnels monthly to attract more money
  • A support desk and product delivery management system

NOW you can get what you need  to get started online, on the right track, with a profitable system.

If you currently run a website, or you have been using email for some time, you’re probably familiar with autoresponders.  An autoresponder is a prospect management and email marketing system that automatically answers e-mail sent to it or responds to form input from subscription forms, opt-in forms, etc. They can be very simple or quite complex.

Autoresponders are often used as e-mail marketing tools, to immediately provide information to their prospective customers and then follow-up with them at pre-set time intervals.  For double opt-ins, (to meet the SPAM Act requirements to prevent SPAM), when someone subscribes or opts-in to one of your campaigns, the autoresponder immediately sends out a Verification Email request that a verification link be clicked to confirm the sign-up.  Once the verification link has been clicked, the autoresponder will send out a series of pre-written, follow-up emails on a schedule specified in the autoresponder.

Note: As an example, I use an autoresponder to send out weekly devotionals (automatically every 7 days for 1 year) from a ministry web site to subscribers.

Follow-up autoresponders can be divided into two categories:

  • Outsourced models — these autoresponders operate on the provider’s infrastructure and are usually configurable via a web-based control panel. The customer usually pays a monthly usage fee but there are some FREE Autoresponder services available. The Outsourced model is easiest to implement for the end-user.
  • Server-side — enables users to install the autoresponder system on their own server. This requires technical skills.

Autorespondes are useful to online businesses in may ways:

  • The major use of autoresponders is for List Building and follow-up promotions to the list for your online business.  An example is that you have a sign-up form on your web page for any type of campaign and when prospects signs up, the autoresponder adds their name and email address to its list.  The autoresponder will then send out a series of pre-written, follow-up emails on a schedule specified in the autoresponder to promote your products to the list.
  • They can be used for technical support to tell your customers that you have received their message and will get back to them soon.   This automated email is important in that it lets the customer know that  the message has been received and will be responded to promptly.
  • They can be used to send prospective customers information about your products, your FAQ (frequently asked questions) and other fixed information.
  • They can be used to send email courses to those who subscribe. For example, if you have a three week course, with course information or documents to be sent to your students once a week, you can automate the sending of the email course by the use of an autoresponder.

Autoresponders may also be incorporated into mailing list software to confirm subscriptions, unsubscribe, posts, and other list activities.  A different autoresponder should be setup for each campaign or specific function of your business for which you want to automate.

A couple of professional, highly rated Autoresponder services which require a monthly fee are shown below:

  • Aweber Aweber is a professional autoresponder solution with unlimited follow-up messages, HTML/plain text options, a web form generator, a wide range of HTML email templates, the ability to customize emails with up to 25 fields, and much more. Automated tools to help ensure your emails get delivered and comply with all relevant legislation. Aweber has a pricing plan that grows based on the amount of service. Account plans start at $19 monthly for handling up to 500 subscribers and increases as your subscriber list grows.
  • Email Aces Email Aces is a full service autoresponder, with follow up marketing, and mailing list management service providing small business owners the ability to run a professional email marketing campaign and effectively manage their email and client lists. Email Aces has some cheaper options for limited features, but the unlimited autoresponder service currently has a $7.95 start-up fee and costs $19.95 each additional month.

To be fair and balanced, I will include some FREE Autoresponder services:

  • Freefollowup – Free Automatic Email Responders with No Ads! No scripts or software to download. Full features allow you to add your own leads and prospects, create HTML & text messages, create or use pre-written unlimited follow-up letters, create subscriptions by email, create subscriptions by web form, personalize your messages, send messages instantly or in intervals set by you, search your leads & manage bounces, send broadcast messages to your leads (subscribers). Currently, there is a one-time $4.99 set up fee and NO monthly fee.
  • List Wire – List Wire was designed to make effective email marketing simple, with a full-featured prospect management and email marketing system that makes it easy to create, and send effective email to your subscribers. List Wire makes it easy to create subscription forms and add them to your own website or blog, using their “SqueezeFrame” system that allows you to add a subscription form to your website, even if you don’t know a thing about uploading web pages, editing HTML, or using an FTP program.
  • Others — There are other free autoresponder services available, with GetResponse being one of them, but most have limited features or put an advertisment on your emails as they are sent out.

All of the Autoresponders listed above are “Double Opt-in” autoresponders, which means that when someone subscribes to your newsletter or list, the autoresponder sends out an email asking the subscriber to verify that they did subscribe by clicking on a confirmation link provided in the email. The autoresponder will not send out any more emails to the subscriber until they have confirmed. This meets the SPAM Act requirements to prevent SPAM.

In conclusion, it is imperative that you make use of autoresponders in your online business.  It automates your business with prospect management and email marketing which frees you up to do other things you need to do.

This is an article on Web Page Design for beginners and I will be discussing FREE tools available for Web Page Design.

HTML Editor – Before you start the web page design, you will need to have a HTML Editor. Although there are several editors for purchase on the market, in keeping with a low budget project, you can download KompoZer, billed as a complete web authoring system. It combines an easy to use editor with a simple file management system. It’s intended to allow novices to create their pages quickly and easily, without learning HTML coding. KompoZer is an open-source project, so the software is free for users.  KompoZer has a good user interface and HELP options if you need help in a specific area.  Tutorials can also be found online with a Google search.  Just download it and install.

Graphics Editor –  Another tool that you will need is a Graphics Editor (i.e., Photoshop) to create graphic headers, banners, etc. If you don’t already have a graphics editor tool, Paint.NET is a FREE free graphics editor and can be downloaded here.  Paint.NET is an open-source freeware editor with all the essentials, including tools to crop, rotate, and resize images, adjust colors, and create collages. It supports common image formats -JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, and others.  Tutorials are available online for Paint.NET; just Google “Paint.net tutorials” and locate several tutorials if you need help.

Another FREE open-source graphics tool is GIMP (short for the GNU Image Manipulation Program), a very capable graphics software package that is favorably compared to what Photoshop can do (even most PS tutorials are useful for GIMP users).  GIMP will run on many platforms, including but not limited to Microsoft Corporation’s Windows platform, Apple’s Mac OS X, and Linux.  In addition to detailed image retouching and free-form drawing, GIMP can accomplish essential image editing tasks such as resizing, editing, and cropping photos,  combining multiple images, and converting between different image formats.  GIMP has a main window and several dialogue windows used for tools, color palettes and so forth; as such GIMP uses a single document interface.  In a single document interface, the responsibility of managing additional windows is left to the operating system.  Tutorials are available online for GIMP; just Google “GIMP tutorials” and locate several tutorials if you need help.  You can download GIMP here.

In summary, three FREE tools you can use for your own web page design projects have been discussed.  These tools can save you money while you create your own web pages.

This article describes some tips for answering the question “Where do I start?” in regards to web page design. Future articles will delve into the specific elements of the page design itself.

The secret to being successful as an online marketer is to have your own web site selling a product or service. Do you know how to create a page or edit one? There is always a need to be able to Edit a page, even though you did not create the page, and it is not hard to do with some guidance. If budget permits, you can outsource your design, but someone just starting in Internet Marketing may not have the budget to outsource.

Where do I start? There are some things that should be done before you get to creating the page. You should select the niche and the title for your web site.

Set up a project folder (on your hard disk) for your website niche to hold only your website files for the pages you are designing. Work in that folder only (put all of the files associated with the web page design in that folder). For example, if you are creating a page selling “gizmos”, create a folder for your gizmos files. If you are creating a page on photography, create a different folder for this project. It is also good practice (Not necessary) to set up an “images” folder to hold your graphics/picture files associated with your pages. This makes it easier later on to select a graphics/picture for insertion into your page.

You do not need to be connected to the internet to design your web pages. You can write and design your web pages off-line. If all you are doing is designing and creating web pages, you do not need to go on the Internet. You can test them by loading into a browser from your hard disk. Later, you can upload the pages to your domain on the internet.

You need a simple word processor such as NotePad or WordPad. These simple word processors (which are already on a Windows computer) are also called text editors and are ideal for creating web pages. Now you can also use word processors such as WordPerfect or Microsoft Word but they are not simple text editors. They include a lot of formatting which may not be compatible with HTML. Therefore, many web page designers like using NotePad for designing HTML pages when using the code tags.

NOTE: Using a word processor for designing online pages means that you are writing the actual HTML code (typing in all the text and HTML tags) in the word processor. I personally would rather use a HTML Editor which creates all of the HTML code for you.

You need a HTML Editor. Even though a web page can be designed using a Word Processor, you have to know the HTML tag codes for each segment of code. This is where a HTML Editor makes life so much easier in designing a web page. A HTML Editor allows you to design more in What-You-See-Is-What- You-Get mode. You can layout your page (using tables and cells) with the size and content you want and the editor creates all of the HTML code. Your page design is immediately visible to see what the page looks like, with a few exceptions.

Page layout. Before you start creating your web page, sketch the page layout on paper for the page header, navigation links, content and any banners you may want to include. Also determine the page width at this point. The sketch will help you stay focused on designing the page.

Tools. Before you start the web page design, you will need to have a HTML Editor. Just download it and install.

Another tool that you will need is a Graphics Editor (i.e., Photoshop) to create graphic headers, banners, etc. If you don’t already have a graphics editor tool, Paint.net is a free graphics editor and can be downloaded here. Paint.NET is an open-source freeware editor with all the essentials, including tools to crop, rotate, and resize images, adjust colors, and create collages. It supports common image formats -JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, and others.

Testing. You will need to test your web pages in multiple web browsers. Internet Explorer and Firefox are among today’s most popular browsers for viewing web pages, but they will display some HTML code differently.

In summary, when designing web sites, our overall objective should be to make sure that our web sites look appealing, contain interesting content and are fast to download if we are to ensure that visitors spend time on our site rather than going elsewhere.
